“Dustin in case you might beat anyone, you’d be holding this belt proper now, not me,” Makhachev answered on Twitter.
“Dustin is on a unique stage now,” one “Diamond” fan responded.
“His stage is: everlasting contender,” Makhachev fired again. “What number of title losses, 2? 3?”
Followers on social media are calling the alternate a “10-8” in favor of the champ.
Poirier, 35, was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov (UFC 242) and Charles Oliveira (UFC 269) in a pair of light-weight title fights, then got here up brief in opposition to Justin Gaethje at UFC 291 for the “BMF” belt.
