NEW YORK — The New York Mets reinstated catcher Francisco Alvarez from the 10-day injured listing Tuesday, simply in time for a three-game homestand towards the Miami Marlins.
Alvarez has been sidelined since having surgical procedure to restore a torn ligament in his left thumb on April 23. He injured the finger 4 days earlier after slipping whereas rounding first base towards the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Mets designated catcher Tomás Nido for task to create roster area for Alvarez.
Alvarez was hitting .236 with one house run and eight RBI in 16 video games earlier than the damage.
