ANAHEIM, Calif. — Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley left Sunday’s 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels within the first inning after being hit on the appropriate hand by a pitch.
Preliminary X-rays and CT scans had been inconclusive with extra scheduled for Monday in Atlanta.
Riley took a 97 mph sinker from Jack Kochanowicz off his proper hand. He stayed in to run the bases however left between innings. He was changed by infielder Luke Williams.
Riley is batting .256 with 19 dwelling runs and 56 RBIs. He was 7-for-41 throughout Atlanta’s 10-game street journey.
