The Washington Capitals positioned Lars Eller on injured reserve Saturday resulting from sickness and recalled fellow ahead Henrik Rybinski from Hershey of the American Hockey League.
The transfer to injured reserve is retroactive to Tuesday. The Capitals acquired Eller from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 12 in alternate for a 2025 fifth-round draft choose and a 2027 third-round choice.
Eller, 35, has two targets and 4 assists in 16 video games for the Capitals this season after totaling 4 and three, respectively, over 17 video games with the Penguins.
