Arsenal have signed Barcelona’s World Cup-winning ahead Mariona Caldentey on a free switch, following the departure of Vivianne Miedema.
The Gunners have been trying to strengthen their attacking choices since saying Miedema – the all-time main scorer within the Ladies’s Tremendous League – would depart on the finish of her contract.
They’ve now swooped for Caldentey after she known as time on her 10-year stint with Barcelona, for whom she made 302 appearances and scored 114 objectives.
She scored 58 of these objectives within the Spanish high flight, a tally solely bettered by Asisat Oshoala (92), Alexia Putellas (80) and Jenni Hermoso (70) for Barcelona.
“I believe what Arsenal are doing as a membership is wonderful – on and off the pitch,” Caldentay, who helped Spain beat England within the 2023 World Cup ultimate, advised the membership’s web site.
“It’s been unimaginable to see what the membership has completed away from the pitch, with supporters following the workforce in every single place and many information being damaged.
“I can’t wait to get began and assist the workforce win trophies and entertain our supporters.”
