HOUSTON — Astros ace Justin Verlander is scheduled to make his first rehabilitation begin Sunday at Triple-A Sugar Land.
The 41-year-old Verlander, who opened the season on the injured record with irritation in his proper shoulder, will throw a bullpen session Thursday in Houston earlier than making his begin this weekend.
Supervisor Joe Espada mentioned Wednesday he expects this to be the primary of two minor league begins Verlander will make earlier than he comes off the injured record.
