TORONTO — Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette was scratched from the lineup for Thursday afternoon’s recreation in opposition to Houston due to a proper forearm contusion.
The 2-time All-Star and two-time AL hit chief struck out on a pitch that hit him within the ninth inning of Wednesday’s 9-2 loss.
Bichette could not maintain up on a 1-2 sinker from Astros right-hander Rafael Montero, and the pitch hit him within the within his proper forearm.
It has been a troublesome season for Bichette, who returned from the injured checklist June 24 after lacking 9 video games due to a sore proper calf. He is batting .229 with 4 dwelling runs and 29 RBIs in 73 video games. His OPS of .613 ranks second final amongst certified AL batters.
Leo Jimenez moved from second base to shortstop in his main league debut, and Spencer Horwitz began at second base.
