Canada has risen two spots within the FIBA males’s basketball rankings, regardless of failing to medal on the Paris Olympics.
FIBA launched the brand new rankings Thursday, with Canada transferring as much as No. 5.
The Canadians jumped from No. 15 to No. 6 final September after incomes bronze on the FIBA World Cup. It was Canada’s first time on the rostrum on the World Cup.
On the Olympics, Canada swept by way of Group A, defeating Greece, Australia and Spain, furthering hopes of a medal.
Nonetheless, Canada fell to eventual silver medallist and host France, now ranked fourth, within the quarterfinals.
It was Canada’s first time on the Olympics since 2000.
