OMAHA, Neb. — Creighton level guard Steven Ashworth seemingly will not play Tuesday within the No. 21 Bluejays’ sport in opposition to San Diego State within the Gamers Period Pageant in Las Vegas.
Ashworth sprained his proper ankle late in a loss to Nebraska on Friday, and coach Greg McDermott stated he did not understand how lengthy he could be out.
“He stepped on a man’s foot on a 3-point shot and also you’re defenseless in that scenario,” McDermott stated after the sport. “He torqued it fairly good.”
An athletic division spokesman stated Monday that Ashworth’s standing was uncertain for the sport in opposition to the Aztecs.
Ashworth is Creighton’s second-leading scorer with 16 factors per sport and leads the workforce with 6.4 assists per sport. He is also 23-of-23 on free throws.
