Miami (Ohio) coach Chuck Martin has accused Alabama of “illegally” recruiting All-America place-kicker Graham Nicholson, a cost that Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer denies.
Martin made the accusation after being requested in a video for the varsity web site about “dropping” his star kicker by the switch portal. Nicholson, who received the Lou Groza Award because the nation’s prime place-kicker final season, is changing Will Reichard at preseason No. 5 Alabama, which opens the season Aug. 31 in opposition to Western Kentucky.
“We did not lose him,” Martin stated. “He is at Alabama. We all know precisely the place he is at. You media individuals, it is all fake. Like, no, Alabama stole our kicker. They illegally recruited our kicker and stole him from us.
