PITTSBURGH — San Diego Padres All-Star left fielder Jurickson Profar left Wednesday night time’s 9-8 win in 10 innings at Pittsburgh shortly after getting hit just under his proper knee by a pitch.
Profar was struck by a pitch from Hunter Stratton within the sixth inning and initially stayed within the recreation, taking first base. Profar hobbled into second base whereas advancing on Xander Bogaerts’ single. He was then faraway from the sport for pinch runner Ha-Seong Kim after being visited by supervisor Mike Shildt and a coach.
After the sport, Shildt stated X-rays on Profar have been unfavorable and he’s listed as daily.
Signed to a one-year, $1 million contract within the offseason, Profar entered the sport with a .302 batting common, 19 dwelling runs and a Nationwide League-leading .395 on-base proportion in 112 video games.
Profar was chosen to final month’s All-Star Recreation for the primary time in his 11-year profession and was a starter.
