The Boston Purple Sox reinstated designated hitter Masataka Yoshida from the 10-day injured checklist Tuesday, whereas veteran first baseman Garrett Cooper was designated for task.
Yoshida, 30, had been sidelined since April 28 with a left thumb pressure. He was within the lineup because the DH on Tuesday, batting fifth in opposition to the visiting Philadelphia Phillies.
