Retired NFL nice Steve Smith — whose 14,731 receiving yards is the eight-most in league historical past — was on the New York Giants’ OTA session on Thursday handing out tips to Massive Blue’s younger receiving corps.

“He’s right here. He got here in. He’s been right here final 12 months. We’ve got a great relationship with him, Joe and I. He’s popping out watching apply. I believe he’s a great sounding board for a few of the younger guys, notably a few of the younger receivers,” head coach Brian Daboll advised reporters. “So he’ll be right here a few days. We’ve got a great relationship with Steve. Joe, clearly at Carolina, and I’ve identified him. I’ve a number of respect for his recreation, how he’s performed. We had him final 12 months too.

Smith, a five-time Professional Bowler and three-time All-Professional who performed nearly all of his profession with the Carolina Panthers, goes approach again with Giants normal supervisor Joe Schoen, who started his NFL profession in 2001 with the Panthers.
After his retirement in 2016, Smith turned an analyst for the NFL Community and has labored in broadcasting since on varied platforms.
