Pure chaos unfolded at BKFC 62 in Hollywood, Fla., on Friday evening when a confused boxer attacked a referee after shedding a battle by standing knockout.
Naked-knuckle boxer Keith Richardson was left dazed on his toes following a robust flurry from Alberto Blas, and it quickly turned apparent that Richardson was so rocked he’d utterly misplaced sense of the state of affairs. In a post-fight frenzy, Richardson began to throw punches at referee Sam Burgos, furiously charging on the retreating official.
Watch the weird second beneath.
Happily for all concerned, it doesn’t seem that Burgos was severely harmed by Richardson’s unintentional assault. A number of coaches and workers may be seen intervening as rapidly as attainable to interrupt up the battle.
Blas was oblivious to the state of affairs as he celebrated his first-round TKO win with a classy backflip. The victory made Blas the brand new BKFC bantamweight champion, a title that Richardson was defending for the primary time since profitable it in October 2023.
Richardson loses for the primary time in 5 appearances for BKFC.
